We have a lot of upcoming events.
September 28 - Yummy Applesauce: We will make applesauce in celebration of Johnny Appleseed's birthday.
October 2 - We will attend an assembly about fire prevention and safety.
October 19 - Field Trip to "Farm Days" at The Virginia Beach Farmer's Market. Each student will bring home a
pumpkin.
Coming Up
Welcome to first grade and happy fall!
We have been so busy in first grade this month. We have been learning how to be a good citizen, writing more than one sentence about a topic, reading high frequency words, and numerous skills in math. In social studies, we have been studying about Long Ago and Now. We have compared schools, clothes, foods, bathrooms, etc. The children really seem to have a good understanding of these concepts. We are just beginning to learn our science process skills which include using our five senses to learn about our world.
